This privacy policy is designed to explain what data is processed by the Batman.city IRC chat service, the KiwiIRC web chat client, the UnrealIRCd server, Anope Services, and the bots running on the server.
This service is provided through the Batman.city IRC Chat network. The IRC server operates under the domain irc.batman.city and uses UnrealIRCd 6 software. The KiwiIRC client can be used for web access.
1. Scope of Service
This chat service may consist of the following components:
– UnrealIRCd IRC server
– KiwiIRC web chat client
– Services such as Anope Services / NickServ / ChanServ / HostServ
– Bots that provide automated responses and assist with channel management
– Web server, security systems, and technical logging infrastructure
Certain logs may be kept on the server for security, abuse prevention, technical maintenance, and channel management purposes.
2. Information Collected and Processed
When you connect to the IRC server or the KiwiIRC web client, the following information may be processed:
– IP address
– Hostname / connection address
– Nickname / alias
– Ident / username information
– Connection time
– Connection duration
– Connection and disconnection events
– Channel information used
– Channel entry and exit events
– Kick, ban, kline, gline, zline and similar security actions
– Operator / administrator actions
– Services actions
– TLS / SSL connection information
– Error, warning and security logs
– Blacklist / proxy / TOR / drone control results
– Messages kept within the channel history
– Commands written to bots and messages processed for bots to respond
3. Log Records
Log records are kept on the server for security and technical management purposes.
According to the current configuration, the following log files are used on UnrealIRCd:
– ircd.log
– ircd.json.log
These log files are configured to reach a maximum size of 10 GB. Log files can contain connection, disconnection, error, warning, operator actions, ban actions, channel events, security checks, and other server events.
The JSON format log file may contain more detailed technical information and can be used for security review, system analysis, or error detection.
4. Chat Messages and Channel History
The channel history feature can be enabled on the server, and some channel messages can be kept as a history.
According to the current configuration, channel history is set to be permanently stored. In this context:
– The last 15 lines or the last 1 day of history can be shown to a new user joining the channel.
– Registered channels can store a maximum of 50,000 lines or 31 days of channel history.
– Unregistered channels can store a maximum of 10,000 lines or 7 days of channel history.
– Channel history is configured to be preserved even if the server is restarted.
Channel history can be used to maintain chat order, allow new users to see previous conversations, investigate abuse, and for security purposes.
Users should be aware that messages they post in IRC channels can be seen by other users, channel operators, server administrators, and bots.
5. Private Messages
Private messages on IRC take place between the relevant users. However, due to server security, abuse, complaint investigation, technical error detection, or running bots, some technical records may be created.
It is recommended not to share passwords, identification information, phone numbers, addresses, bank information, personal documents, private life information, or sensitive data in private messages.
6. Use of Bots
The server has bots that provide automated responses and help maintain channel order.
These bots can be used for the following purposes:
– Automated responses to users
– Responding to help commands
– Maintaining channel order
– Enlivening the chat
– Helping to detect spam, flooding, or abuse
– Sharing news, information, or announcements
– Generating AI-powered responses
Messages shared with bots may be processed so that the bot can respond and process commands. Messages written in channels where bots are present can be read by the bots.
Users should not send personal information, passwords, identification information, phone numbers, addresses, bank information, or confidential information to bots.
7. KiwiIRC and Web Server Logins
Users connecting via KiwiIRC access the IRC server using a web browser.
In this case, the following technical information may be recorded by the web server or KiwiIRC infrastructure:
– IP address
– Browser information
– Operating system information
– Connection date and time
– URL accessed
– Error and access logs
– Session or connection preferences
KiwiIRC may store some information in the browser for user experience. For example, the last used nickname, theme preference, or connection settings may be kept in the browser.
8. Using Anope Services
Anope Services can be used on the server.
